Equis Lake

The Equis Lake estate is located in the picturesque Upperswan region; just north-east of the Vines. Marsh Civil commenced this project in January 2010 and the works were completed in October the same year.

The works involved extensive earthworks including the selective clearing of the existing bush-land, sub-grade clay layer shaping and the importation, placement & shaping of approximately 100,000 tons of clean sand. Reconstituted laterite block retaining walls were used to achieve the required contouring between the roads, lots and verges of the subdivision.

The project also required the installation of substantial amounts of underground services with approximately 1,500 meters of sewer and drainage, the installation of nearly 600 linear meters of Subterranean Linear Soakage units and two Gross Pollutant (GPT) structures and also 2,400 meters of water and power services.

The subdivision required the construction of approximately 6,000 square meters of roads, which included dual thickness layers of asphalt. In addition to this Marsh Civil also constructed the sales office access road and associated car-park as part of the works.

A unique aspect of this project was the construction of a culvert across a live creek, with Gabion structures and extensive concrete inlet and outlet aprons. The client (Investa Pty Ltd) together with their consultants have gone to great lengths to maintain the local beauty of the creek which passes through the subdivision, whilst at the same time developing a modern public open space which will be a feature of future stages of the estate, the overall result being an eco-friendly development.

Throughout the project Marsh Civil liaised closely with the client and the local community progress association to ensure that any resident issues were addressed during quickly and efficiently during construction.
