The Grove Estate (Stage 8)

Marsh Civil successfully tendered and was awarded this project in the heart of Tapping. The project presented many site challenges ranging from the extensive bulk earthworks involving peat wet ground and also the installation of a subsoil drainage system to disperse the groundwater present across the site.

The earthworks involved the rearrangement of Jimbup Swamp and required the removal of a large amount of swamp grasses. Sections of the site were very wet and boggy and this made working the area with large heavy machinery quite treacherous and site staff had to plan their work carefully.

There was an enormous differential between the original terrain and the final finished contours required for the formation of a community sports oval. To ensure that the works were constructed efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy Marsh Civil utilised machined grade control.

The works also involved the construction of amphitheatre style retaining walls which helped with the contouring of the steep batters on the eastern side of the oval, but will also provide future seating for the sports facility.

This project also involved the construction of roads including the upgrade of two existing road intersections and the interconnection of the existing Ashley Road to the Grove Estate. The completed road-works now serves as a major feeder road into the estate.

Marsh Civil was proud to be involved in this project and congratulates the land developer Satterley Property Group for the many years of planning and negotiation with the City of Wanneroo that has culminated in the construction of this fantastic community facility.
