Safety
Marsh Civil achieved certification to the AS/NZS ISO 4801:2001 OH&S Management Systems standard in March 2008.
We recognise our moral and legal responsibility to provide and maintain a work environment in which employees, labour hire personnel, subcontractors, customers, visitors, suppliers and clients are not exposed to hazards. This commitment extends to ensuring that Marsh Civil operations do not place the local community at risk of injury, illness or property damage, and is applicable to Marsh Civil in all its operations and functions including situations where employees are required to work off site.
Marsh Civil achieves this through:
- Complying with all OH&S legislation, regulations, standards, codes of practice, legal or other requirements applicable to our operations.
- Providing and maintaining safe workplaces, safe plant and safe systems of work.
- Consultation and cooperation between management and employees, and by involving employees in any OH&S matter or workplace changes.
- Providing policies, procedures, instructions, training and supervision to ensure safe work systems and that people are not exposed to hazards.
- Ensuring effective injury management and rehabilitation is provided to all employees.
- Incorporating and reviewing OH&S objectives and targets in business plans and employing the processes of continuous improvement and management review.
- Identifying all significant safety aspects relevant to our operations and implementing an OH&S Management Plan to minimise their impacts.
- Monitoring advances in OH&S practices and implementing as required.
- Ensuring that our OH&S objectives are communicated to all relevant employees, labour hire personnel, subcontractors, customers, visitors, suppliers and clients.
- Utlising our AS/NZS 4801:2001 certification to ensure business processes are undertaken to repeatable best practice standards
